Sealed Concrete VS Polished Concrete
Despite similarities in appearance, polished concrete and sealed concrete differ in some ways. Until the floor achieves the desired level of shine, polished concrete is polished using finer grits of diamond abrasive. Keep in mind that the polished concrete floor is not covered in a film. This finish has a shorter lifespan than a polished concrete floor.
However, in sealed concrete, the concrete is cleaned and allowed to dry. Like paint, a thin layer of acrylic, epoxy, or urethane sealer is applied to the concrete surface. Concrete voids are filled with the layer of sealer.
Depending on the type of sealer used, the desired level of shine is achieved. The sealer forms a thin film over the concrete surface, preventing moisture intrusion beneath the finished floor.

Because the pores are filled, water or spillage does not find its way down, extending the life of the concrete. Concrete is sometimes sealed to prevent moisture from entering beneath the floor.
The sealer is damaged every time traffic passes by and eventually wears off, necessitating resealing. For example, in the driveway, traffic may damage the sealer. Sealers are also used in cold climates where there is a problem with freezing and thawing. Because the sealer prevents water from entering, there is no freezing and thawing.

Sealing fills the pores of the concrete, preventing moisture and dirt from entering and extending its life.
Appearance
As previously stated, it is difficult to distinguish between the two because they appear nearly identical. Polished and Sealed Concrete can have a matte, satin, or glossy finish. However, the process for achieving a matte, satin, or gloss appearance is entirely different.
The desired level of shine is achieved in polished concrete floors by using finer grits of diamond abrasive, whereas the shine is achieved in sealed concrete floors by using various types of sealers. In the case of grind and sealed concrete, the finish is more consistent.
 
Durability
Polished concrete is more durable, has a scratch-resistant finish, requires little maintenance, and can last a lifetime if properly cared for. However, if traffic is heavy, the sealed concrete must be resurfaced on a regular basis.

Cleaning
Permanent marks in polished concrete can appear if it is installed in an area prone to spills and stains. However, cleaning the sealed cement is simple.
